Call for Organizers

Join the WordCamp Kerala 2023 organizing team!

Thank you for the overwhelming response to our call for organizers – our call for organizers has closed on January 23rd, 2023!

We received 30 applications and are evaluating them individually. Unfortunately, we do not have as many spaces in our organizing team, so we may only be onboarding a small number of applicants as organizers. Nonetheless, we will be informing all applicants about the status of their application by January 31st, 2023.

WordCamp Kerala 2023 would not be possible without the help of a diverse and passionate group of organizers! Much like WordPress, WordCamps are also volunteer driven projects – and no WordCamp would be successful without the help of a dynamic team of volunteer organizers who make this event a reality.

Our WordCamp this year is a regional event, which means that we are looking at an audience spanning the entire state of Kerala (and more!) This is the biggest WordCamp we have organized, as the Trivandrum, Kochi, Kozhikode, and Palakkad work hard to make this event a reality.

We already have a team of passionate organizers for WordCamp Kerala 2023. However, given the scale of our event, we are planning to induct a few more members to our organizing team.

Benefits of being a WordCamp Kerala Organizer

Responsibilities of being a WordCamp Kerala Organizer

We have different organizer roles in the WordCamp Kerala team, including speaker, sponsor, volunteer, attendee experience, stage management, etc. As an organizer, you will be playing a lead role in one of these teams and will oversee the coordination of the event.

Broadly speaking, you will be assigned a team and briefed on the responsibilities once you are selected as an organizer, but in general, your tasks will be as follows:

  • Play a lead role in a specific team
  • Work with a group of volunteers to achieve certain tasks
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with the organizing team
  • Plan things in advance and make sure everything is up to speed.
  • Handle crises situations with patience and grace
