It’s our contributor day today! Are you excited?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wanted to share with you some details about the event, so that you can stay prepared! As a recap, Contributor days are dedicated day-long sub-events that are typically associated with a WordCamp. It is an event where people come together to contribute to the development of WordPress. WordCamps are community-organized events that bring together WordPress users, developers, designers, and enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WordCamp Kerala’s contributor day is a little different though, as this is an informal event that we are holding prior to our camp, and is not exactly connected to WordCamp Kerala. The event is being held both online and in-person, and is being held on March 11th (today). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will happen at the WordCamp Kerala 2023 Contributor Day?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First, the WordCamp Kerala 2023 contributor day is an informal event! This is not formally part of the event, but an initiative by contributors to build engagement around the camp and to create some engagement before our event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main focus for this contributor day is to onboard new contributors. If you ever wanted to make your first contribution to WordPress but were unaware about the steps, this is your chance to learn how!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are planning a few contributor onboarding sessions for different Make\/WordPress teams, both online and in-person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In-person events will roughly follow the schedule of the online event, however, some group members may work on their own tasks as they may get in-person support on their contributions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
